Street Play on Drug Addiction

Participation in Samanwaya 2017

Samanwaya 2017 is an intercollegiate International competition of Social Work Students. This is organized by BCM College Kottayam. Our students participated in all programmes and won first and second places for street play and Scientific Posture Presentation respectively.

Induction Programme for First year UG students

Audio Documentary on Radio Media Village

1st year MSW students of our department recorded a documentary on ‘Child Abuse’ at Radio Media Village FM Radio. A total of 8 students furnished the programme successfully. The programme will be telecasted soon.


“Justice for Jisha”

Students of Social Work Department conducted a protest rally on 6th May 2016 at 1.30 pm to express their sincere concern over the recent harassments and rape incidents towards women in Kerala. The Rally started from the college ended at Traffic Square.Mr. Surendran, delivered a motivational talk on women’s safety.


Theatre Workshop

The Social Work Department organised a two days street theatre Programme on May 2nd and 3rd , 2016 for 1st year MSW students. The workshop helped the students to build essential skills in street theatre and various art forms. Dr.Yesudas trained the students.


SPSS Workshop

The Department of Social Work organized a two days work shop to social work students under the leadership of Mr. Deepak, a Scholar from the M. G. University in order to provide hands on experience on research methodology and SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences).


Human Rights Education Campaign

HRE club is an initative of parliamentary affairs for imparting in the student campaign in the student community. Red Ribbon Club

Two of our faculties Sr Lince Maria SH and Ms Priya Philip along with the 2nd Year MSW students participated in International Symposium on Permanency of Marriage conducted by CANA Pontifical Institute Thuruthy in 27th January 2016. KAPS-Kottayam Chapter Meeting

The department of social work enthusiastically participated in various meetings conducted by Kerala Association of Professional Social Workers (KAPS)which are  organised  at  Bharat Matha College Thrikkakara(Annual day celebration) and SB College (Executive Meeting)in 15th December 2015 and 15th January 2016.

BLOCK PLACEMENT

As a part of academic requirement, the students of third semester went for first block placement. Inorder to get professional training they are placed in various hospitals and NGO settings such as NIMHANS, ST. JOHNS, C M C Velloor, DON BOSCO, FR. Muller,SCARF etc.

Samanwaya 2015 is an intercollegiate competition of Social Work Students. This is organized by BCM College Kottayam. Our students participated in all programmes and won second and third places for street play and debate respectively.
