Jyoti Bhavan, one of the seven hostels attached to the Assumption College Changanacherry provides students with a range of personal facilities and a diversity of activities unmatchable by similar student residences. It is owned by Assumption College and was officially opened on the 2nd of August 1969, when the Servant of God Mar Mathew Kavukattu, the saintly Archbishop blessed the house. The sisters of the

Franciscan Clarist Congregation (FCC) become the care takers of this hostel. It provides the students with a range of personal facilities and a diversity of activities. Today, the hostel offers its facilities to 135 students.


A good management is the backbone of a successful organization. To implement this strategy a close supervision and guidance is made by the warden in electing the members to the executive body as office bearers every year. The office bearers are:

  • Prefect
  • Assistant Prefect
  • General Secretary
  • Arts club Secretary
  • Audio Visual Manager
  • Spiritual Animator
  • CSM prefect
  • Class Representatives

Presently Jyoti Bhavan has 28 rooms which have a capacity of 5 people each. Four single rooms are also available for students.
